Hello, welcome to Lavenders and Lemons. This site is run by an odd student, Sophia Gonzales, who has a passion for IT. Originally, I was a Financial Management major, but I am in Interdisciplinary Studies and will eventually go to trade school to formalize my existing tech knowledge.
I started Lavenders and Lemons as a place to yap; it was originally called Theolex’s blog, which became very successful. However, due to the rapid growth of shared hosting, it was shut down. I used Theolex’s blog heavily to yap about my life; however, I will continue here. I mainly yap about video games and anime content, but I will post other things related to my life and the healing process of going to art school. This blog started during my art school days, and I have migrated it here.
Aside from this, I will also use this blog to document, mainly, the behind-the-scenes process I went through in making it.
Where did Lavenders and Lemons gets its name
Lavender is my favorite color; before that, it was Magenta. However, the origin of this song is two nursery rhymes, which are from the nursery rhymes Lavender’s Blue and the song Oranges and Lemons, combined; the blog ended up being known as Lavender’s and Lemons. A bit of a name that others have already taken and used.
Before Lavenders and Lemons
Lavenders and Lemons, in a nutshell, runs on its own web servers and, instead of being hosted on top web hosting sites such as Hostinger, is managed through a terminal. IT is run through servers instead of purely a webhost; the original site, which was owned by Theolex blog, has shut down. Due to successful web traffic and my ability to market my blog and improve its SEO.
Meanwhile, I was running my second blog for a school project called Danny Emo, a sequel blog to an original Wattpad story, Diary ng Emo, or (Diary of an Emo), not a good story, nonetheless, but it was a temporary blog, for that school year it was a fun side blog that I have used to gather more experience on blog hosting and making of this so called blog. This was around 2018-2019; I didn’t know what could be coded, and I was using W3Schools before anything else, as that was my only reference for making a site from scratch.
I took a long break from website building and blog hosting around 2019 because I had a hard time finding a virtual private server (VPS) host. This will be discussed a lot when I make blog posts on my portfolio and behind the scenes of making a blog and this server on this website. Although I’ve started using ai to support lots of the codes that were written and supported from and the hopes I can make a better blog from scratch.
On running Lavenders and Lemons
This blog has been here and will continue to be here, as much as possible, for blogging. The blog will have a few terms that should be known, and I will try to explain like I am 5, especially if you are reading this and are not really into having tech terminology at much as possible.
Some of these may involve my current coursework on whatever I am doing in IT, but other times, the focus is on how I documented some of my projects in lavender and lemon. These will mainly be the system admin work I usually do, along with some coding programs I currently do or plan to do. There will also be GitHub links that’ll just be a read me of my ongoing projects, if you want less of a blog format of how I run the website.
Theolexluna’s personal life
I am originally a middle and high school student with a passion for IT work, I tried my hand at business as I was interested in learning about how to easily make profits, but now I am off to say and talk about other things, including video games such as gacha games or jrpg stories, or you may find me playing emulated psp games and old 3ds games as a hobby. My current rotation of Gacha games includes Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, and Never to Everest.
Gacha games = Games that originate from the word gachapon, spending an amount of free-to-play currency, to obtain these characters, which are usually story-based games.
Besides video games, I love watching anime on Crunchyroll. My current anime binge includes The Agent of 4 Seasons, which features four agents who manifest their own seasons and retainers. I also read manga and light novels in addition to watching anime, with my favorites being the Moriarty the Patriot series, the Black Butler series, and Death Note.
For light novels, I love reading Isekai tropes, which are anime tropes where the main character, who usually lives on Earth, goes on to live in another world. The factors of these anime tropes include incarnation.
My blog will also center around my hobbies, and not just my IT work. There is no post schedule, maybe weekly if there is a post schedule. But there will be no post schedule, as I do not have predictability, especially in the school year, on when I will be able to post as I have hobbies and I have schoolwork, although my schoolwork has already been light in business and will be lighter when I shift to Interdisciplinary studies.
